Our To Do List

We need the following info to properly prepare your bankruptcy:  If you do not have everything on Our To Do List when you initially meet with us don't worry about it because you can always email it to us.

A monthly billing statement from each creditor.
It must have the payment address listed on it.  If you do not have a recent statement it's ok because you can estimate the amount you owe.

Your
free credit report from the website the FTC set up.
We would be happy to help you pull your free credit reports when you meet with us because your debts could have been sold or sent to multiple collection agencies. Your credit reports can be also be used in lieu of billing statements if you don't have any.

Creditor correspondence.
We must add all collection agencies, debt purchasers, and attorneys to your bankruptcy so they will cease collection activities so please provide us with any correspondence you may have received.

A pay stub.
We need your latest pay stub if you get paid the same each pay period.   If your income varies please bring as many pay stubs as you can so we can income average.

Means Test.
We need your gross monthly income for the last 6 months, beginning with the month prior to seeing us to prepare your bankruptcy.  This is used to qualify you to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Note:  If you do not have your prior 6 months paystubs your payroll office should be able to provide you with a computer print out.

All lawsuits within the last year.
We need a copy of any lawsuit you were involved in the during the last year because it must be listed in your Statement of Financial Affairs regardless of whether you are suing someone or someone is suing you.

Annual Gross income.
We need your year to date gross income (can be found on your last paystub) & prior two years gross income (can be found on your income tax returns or you can call the IRS).

Note:  All sources of income must be listed separately i.e. unemployment, employment, food stamps, social security, self employment, etc.  If you are filing bankruptcy with your spouse his/her income must be listed separately.

Our questionnaire.
Feel free to fill out our
questionnaire.  It will save you a lot of time when we meet with you.  We left you lots of room to write so please don't be intimidated by it's size.
